Position: Master Teacher

 

Our Preschool Teachers work on highly collaborative and creative teams assisting and carrying out a group and individual goals and objectives for the children that we serve, maintaining staff to child ratios and providing a safe, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing environment in which the children are enabled to learn and thrive.

 

Responsibilities include:

    • Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children’s growth, exploration, and participation

    • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment for children

    • Coordinate with other teachers to develop lesson plans for children to develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills

    • Observe the child and interpret the child’s needs

    • Treat all children unconditionally and with the same importance level

    • Coordinate regular communication with parents regarding their children’s progress

    • Supervise and manage children both inside and outside the classroom

    • Monitor and track children progress on a regular basis.

    • Supervise and coordinate an effective classroom teaching team of Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Aides; take responsibility for the success of the program, work proactively to avert problems, and take initiative to solve problems

Skill/Education requirement:

    • B.A. required (Early Childhood Education preferred, M.A. preferred). Required 12 units of ECE classes 

    • 5 years of experience in a child-initiated classroom generally

    • Experience working in a play-based program

    • Commitment to the Golden State Preschool philosophy and approach

    • Ability to work in a flexible and creative way, adapting to changes

    • Strong communication skills

    • Proven track record of reliable leadership, supporting a collaborative teaching team

    • Must be able to pass a background clearance

 

Position: Teacher

Position: Teacher Assistants

 

Responsibilities include:

    • Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children’s growth, exploration, and participation

    • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment for children

    • Coordinate with other teachers to develop lesson plans for children to develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills

    • Observe the child and interpret the child’s needs

    • Treat all children unconditionally and with the same importance level

    • Coordinate regular communication with parents regarding their children’s progress

    • Supervise and manage children both inside and outside the classroom

    • Monitor and track children progress on regular basis.

Skill/Education requirement:

    • Required 6-11 units of ECE classes & 6 months experience.

    • 1 year of experience in a child-initiated classroom generally

    • Experience working in a play-based program

    • Commitment to the Golden State Preschool philosophy and approach

    • Ability to work in a flexible and creative way, adapting to changes

    • Must be able to pass a background clearance

    • Strong communication skills

 

Position: Teacher Aide

 

Responsibilities include:

    • Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children’s growth, exploration, and participation

    • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment for children

    • Coordinate with other teachers to develop lesson plans for children to develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills

    • Observe the child and interpret the child’s needs

    • Treat all children unconditionally and with the same importance level

    • Coordinate regular communication with parents regarding their children’s progress

    • Supervise and manage children both inside and outside the classroom

    • Monitor and track children progress on a regular basis

Skill/Education requirement:

    • Required 0-5 units of ECE classes & 6 months experience.

    • 6 month of experience in a child-initiated classroom generally

    • Experience working in a play-based program

    • Commitment to the Golden State Preschool philosophy and approach

    • Ability to work in a flexible and creative way, adapting to changes

    • Strong communication skills
